An upscale duo from Los Angeles are eager to adopt a baby from a trailer-park-dwelling Louisiana family in award-winning playwright Jane Anderson's timely look at the social and economic issues surrounding private adoptions. The dance these couples do during the weeks before the baby's birth is fraught with friction. Both wear their desperation on their sleeves--one driven by poverty to sell their baby, the other by infertility to basically buy it. The play skates between the comic and dramatic, as it moves to its poignant finish.

The cast, under the direction of Paul Jaquith, includes Michelle Hurtubise as Rachel, Johanna Jaquith as Wanda, Matt Maxwell as Ron, David Trudeau as Al and Ryan Wuestewald as Richard. Produced by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
